Date Listed: Jul-04-08 It is kitten season and you would think this would be a simple task, to find that just right kitten, but it has not turned out to be so. The Shelters and Rescues are over crowded, crying for help to place these kittens and cats, but will no adopt out without s/n, even to someone who is responsible. First off, this will be a 100% inside cat, she will never be de-clawed and she will never have to be placed in a shelter or rescue situation for the rest of her life. She will have the very best of Veterinary care, micro-chipped, loved and a member of our family. She will receive the very best organic, all natural food. She will never have fleas and learn to be bathed, have her nails clipped and ears cleaned on a regular basis. She will have toys galore, several cat trees to play on, plus a spot on our bed to sleep. She will get to travel and attend cat shows to be shown as a House Hold Pet. She will have the companionship of our other show cats. So far this doesn't sound like such a bad life, does it? We are looking for a female kitten that is an unusual color. Long or medium long coat. We DO NOT want a black, black & white tuxedo or a brown mackerel tabby. These colors might work IF she posses something unusual, like two different eye colors, blue eyed (very rare). True blue, not simply blue kitten eyes that later turn gold. A classic tabby, a patched tabby & white would work if the colors are unique, dilute colrs. A red or cream tabby is fine, but only 25% of red and creams are females. Chocolate, lilac, blue, Calico, Torbie or Tortoiseshell is fine. Pointed (Siamese marked) is prefered, blue, cream, chocolate, tortie, lynx, but not seal, with or without mittens & white. Colour, marking and eue color are important to us. If we wanted a purebred cat, we could find one in these colors, but we want to help by providing a home for a homeless kitten. Now here is the crux of this situation, we do not want her spayed at 8 to 12 weeks old. We would prefer to not have her spayed until she is 6-8 months old. Since she will be a 100% inside cat, there will not be any chance for her to be "accidentally" bred. We understand that it is safe to spay at an earlier age, we do not believe in it healthy in the longterm of a cats life to remove a part of it's endocrine system at such an early age. We will be more than glad to sign a waiver, leave a spay deposit to be refunded when she is spayed. We are not interested in a purebred kitten. Is there anyone out there with a kitten they would place into this loving situation and take a chance on us doing the right thing, please contact us. |
